This once tired building has
been revitalized, and now embraces its unique location,
capitalizing on both the lakeside and two street exposures. The
building no longer has a “back side”, which has increased its curb
appeal. The expanded public access is much more inviting to
customers, and the marina/lake views are commanding, making this an
appealing location for businesses. Although the Smith Brother’s
Fish Shanty Restaurant no longer exist, the building owners are
maintaining the historical namesake. We anticipate a high-end
restaurant, reminiscent of the former restaurant, will once again
offer customers memorable dining experiences.
The most prominent changes
involved an exterior façade enhancement, and dramatic site
improvements. The new Ipe (Brazilian hardwood) clad boardwalk,
extends from Franklin Street around the entire lakeside of the
building, and provides opportunities for outdoor dining, access to
businesses from the lakeside, casual and scenic walks, as well as
ADA accessibility to the entire main level (previously not
available).
