The Paramount Restaurant is the vision of a
music aficionado (the Owner) who researched the history of the Blues; the
Blues’ ties with Paramount Record Studio and Paramount Record Studio’s ties to
Wisconsin Chair Company in Grafton and Port Washington Wisconsin. As such,
Paramount Restaurant will be a tribute to the Paramount blues music containing
artifacts from the original recording artists of Paramount Records. The
restaurant offers upscale American cuisine with live blues music. The
Owner’s research and enthusiasm for this forgotten part of the area's history
has inspired the Village of Grafton to adopt the Owner’s Paramount theme in
developing “Paramount Plaza” as a Village focal point located adjacent to the
restaurant property.
Paramount Restaurant is an adaptive re-use
of an existing building that was originally constructed in the 1840’s but,
unfortunately, lost its historic building value through many remodels over the
years including a layer of stucco over the original limestone exterior.
Because much of the original stone exterior had been removed or damaged the
exterior has been clad with a stone veneer that closely matches the original
limestone. The Restaurant features 3,000 sf. of dining space including a
private dining/meeting room with full internet and power point hook-ups and
future telecommunications.
