The Viterbo University School of Nursing is a new 68,700 SF facility located in the Southeast corner of the existing Campus. The new Nursing School features state of the art simulation labs, 3 lecture halls, classrooms, seminar spaces, and faculty offices. Haag Müller, Inc. was brought onto the design team for this project to consult with the Architect on the finishes, materials, and furnishings used throughout the building. Haag Müller, Inc. also led and managed the Art Committee for this project. The Art committee process included the following: determine & present the initial vision and goals for the project, research and review Artist work(s), coordinate locations, sizes, & specifications, coordinate production/ delivery of Artwork. The artwork in the end has a great impact on the spaces and emphasizes the healing elements found in nature. Haag Müller, Inc. also had the opportunity to design and implement the benefactor wall in the main lobby space. Below you will find a small sample of the Artwork elements that can be found within the building. Overall, 160 pieces of Artwork were specified, many of which were custom commissioned Art pieces. A variety of media and techniques were also used including: mosaic glass artwork, waxed paper artwork, photography, acrylics, and dry pigment painting.
